Description Oil painting on canvas. Portrait of Thirza Harrison Fair wearing a dark dress with shoulder-cut neckline trimmed with white transparent edging, red shawl falling from shoulders, hair parted and curls gathered on either side of head and falling sausage curls. Stretcher labeled: Thirza Fair, grandmother of Arthur S. Holmes. Frame of a gold with floral pattern.

Born circa 1805 Thirza Harrison married John Fair prior to moving to Oshkosh.
She lived the rest of her life in Oshkosh and died on June 4, 1883 at the age of 78. She is buried in Riverside Cemetery.
