James Quigley was born in Ireland on December 3, 1816. He immigrated to Boston, Massachusetts circa 1851. He was married in Boston to Johanna on September 2, 1851. Joanna was born in Ireland in June 1827. Their daughter Ellen was born in Massachusetts circa 1853, as well as their son John in 1855. Their son Edward was born in Wisconsin circa 1858, and son James (Jr.) in 1860. By 1860, James Quigley was living on a farm in Poygan Township with his family. Other documents indicate that he owned 80 acres in the South 1/2 of the South East Quarter of Section 24. All four children were still living on the farm in 1880. James Quigley died in Winnebago County on February 5, 1906 at the age of 89. His wife Johanna died November 22, 1896. They are both buried at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Poygan. |

| Abstract |
Small pocket Boston Almanac used by Irish Immigrant James Quigley. The book contains a memorandum; calenders; business directory for Boston; and other useful information about the city. It once had a map of the city, but it is no longer present. Quigley made several entries in the memorandum section:
