Full view of Jane Morris Lewis and her children. She is seated at right wearing a dark dress while her son Caleb is seated at left. Her daughters are from left to right: Sarah Lewis Edwards and Anna Lewis Jones. Jane Morris was born in Wales, the daughter of David Morris. She married James Lewis on June 6, 1848. They settled on a farm near Rosendale in Section 9, Fond du lac County. The couple had three children: Sarah Lewis Edwards (wife of Benjamin Edwards) Caleb Lewis; and Anna Lewis Jones (wife of Watkin V. Jones). James died on February 6, 1880 and was buried at Zoar Church Cemetery in Winnebago County. Her son Caleb took over the family farm and she lived with him. |
