Photographic print of John Edno Roberts. He wears a dark suit; tie; and a trimmed down beard. John Edno Roberts was born in Wales. He came to the United States prior to the 1860s. He evidently settled in Utica, New York or Vermont where there was a large Welsh population working the slate mines of that erea. He was a very prominant poet and author making many contributions to Welsh language publications in the United States. He was living in Oshkosh, Wisconsin by 1887 and worked as a fireman for Morgan Company. He died after 1916 and prior to 1919. |
