There are many ways for you to support the museum and its mission in addition to cash donations and membership.
Gifts and bequests can have a powerful impact on programs, exhibitions, and education. Elizabeth Rojahn's bequest is funding the first phase of the exhibition renovation in Memories & Dreams, and Gilbert LaBudde's bequest made the fall exhibition Return to Dinotopia possible. These generous donors made an investment in the museum and its mission. Through their foresight, they have made a positive impact.
City tax levy support has declined, and in these days of intense competition for increasingly limited grant dollars, grants are not a reliable source of funding.
If you believe in the museum's mission and that what we do is worthy of your support, we hope you'll consider making a gift. There are many ways that you might consider. For example, retirement plans are heavily taxed at death. You could designate the museum as a beneficiary of a percentage of your retirement plan, thus making a gift to the museum rather than having the money go toward taxes. This is a quick procedure you can do with a simple change of beneficiary form. Making the museum a beneficiary of a life insurance policy is another way to support us.
Increasing our Endowment held at the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation is essential for the financial stability of the museum. However, we have many other activities and programs that also need support. We want to know what your interests are and discuss how you might help. Please contact museum director Brad Larson at 920-236-5769 OR email Brad Larson.
Bequests can change everything. For more information on various ways you can make a gift to the Endowment, contact the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation by email or 920-426-3993.
