Historic Photographs

The Oshkosh Public Museum’s collection includes over 300,000 artifacts and archival materials that represent the people and history of Oshkosh and the Lake Winnebago Region. Digital images of the collection items are available for purchase for personal and non-profit/for-profit commercial use.  

All requests will require an agreement form to be filled out. For publication uses a letter of indemnification will also be required. Once payment is received, requests will receive an invoice and permission form with the release of the image(s).

Historic Photograph Research and Requests

Thousands of images within the Museum's collection are accessible online for research or reproduction request. The online gallery offers search functionality by keyword, creator, person, place, subject and more. It's a wealth of knowledge at one's fingertips. Start your research here>>>

If you would like to request a digital copy of one of the historic photographs from the online gallery, please click on the image thumbnail and then the small camera icon “Request Image” to take you to the online form or contact the following Museum staff for assistance.

Donations and Collections Requests or Inquiries

The Oshkosh Public Museum owns a diverse collection of objects and images representing the people and environment of Oshkosh and the Lake Winnebago Region of East Central Wisconsin. More than 300,000 items are held in trust by the Museum including fine, folk and decorative arts, textiles, toys, natural history specimens, Native American objects, historic artifacts, including an outstanding archival collection.

Visitors are always welcome to contact us regarding donation and collection inquiries. Please schedule an appointment in advance to ensure staff is available and prepared to assist with your inquiry.
