February 27 – May 23, 2010
Step back onto the streets of old Oshkosh and explore the development of this historic city on the water.
This local history exhibit depicts the landscapes and buildings of Oshkosh in the mid-1910s. More than 50 large-scale panoramic photos bring Oshkosh history into focus. One moment you’re on the sidelines of a baseball game and the next you’re strolling down 1915 Main Street. Engaging photo captions and related artifacts throughout the galleries tell the stories of the moments and places captured on film. See the industries and companies that made Oshkosh a booming riverfront community at the turn of the century and explore notable Oshkosh landmarks. Compare early images with current photographs to see how history has changed the landscape. This display of stunning photography by John H. Whitney takes you through the lens and around the town into the memories of Oshkosh past
