OUT of THIS WORLD: Extraordinary Costumes from Film and Television

Organized by the Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame in Seattle, WA
February 16 through May 18, 2008

Imagine gazing eye-to-eye with the famous and original hat worn by the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz! Everyone loves film hero Indiana Jones. His trademark whip and leather jacket make an undisputed statement. Now imagine seeing both the jacket and whip from Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade! Search no longer for the Holy Grail, for you’ll find that legendary chalice from the Last Crusade at the Oshkosh Public Museum!

If the Dark Side beckons, Star Wars fans will love Darth Vader’s helmet and lightsaber from the first and legendary Star Wars movie. Rekindled the excitement and sense of fantasy you felt when you gaze upon the flight suit worn by Luke Skywalker. On the lighter side, you’ll laugh when you see the costume and proton pack worn by Dan Aykroyd as Dr. Raymond Stantz in Ghostbusters II. For all those Star Trek fans, the exhibition includes a famous Captain Kirk costume, as well as a Klingon costume.

Organized by the Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame in Seattle, Washington, Out of This World: Extraordinary Costumes from Film and Television, includes costumes from the most popular adventure and science fiction Hollywood blockbusters to hit the screens. Nineteen costumes uniquely presented in cool state-of-the-art pods, Out of This World: Extraordinary Costumes from Film and Television will be an exhibition you’ll want to make a return visit to see before it leaves Oshkosh for its next stop.
