Sawyer Family Grand Staircase Parlor Library Dining Room Den Other Rooms

Den and Conservatory, c. 1912Then:
The den is decorated with chestnut-paneled walls and has a brick fireplace. Original Tiffany stenciling decorates the walls above the wood. The den was adjacent to a conservatory, entered through a brilliant Tiffany glass archway. The glass is a stunning green and lavender wisteria design; the original Tiffany glass is now located in the lobby of the museum. The conservatory, which no longer exists, had marble floors.

Now:

Today the Sawyer Den houses a historical presentation of the Sawyer family and the house, including the gardens and outbuildings. We have also recreated the original view of the conservatory from the den, including a copy of the original Tiffany stained glass.
