Description Seat Type Parachute: black rubber seat cushion which also serves as a floatation device attached to the seat pack; canvas seat pack, semi-rigid with wire frame; four large flaps shaped to fold over and cover the parachute canopy and lines; one pair of flaps has stiffeners; inside of pack has two rows of retaining loops attached to the suspension lines of the parachute; nylon suspension lines with nylon canopy inside; four metal locking cones on exterior and grommets that fit over the cones; locking pin passes through all and is attached to a flexible metal cord or "Rip Cord"; rip cord leads to a metal grip attached to the web canvas harness on chest; canvas back pad filled with stuffing material; web canvas harness is attached to the seat and back pad; two adjustable leg straps with buckles; buckle at chest.

Used primarily by fighter pilots. This parachute was manufactured by Reliance Manufacturing Company of Chicago, IL and all metal fittings were made by Triangle Manufacturing Company Incorporated in Oshkosh, WI.
