Record 614/959 Catalog Record World War II Exhibit Page Home Search Description  "German Cross" (see "German Medals and Decorations of WWII", pp 105 - 108). Brass colored medal in the shape of an Maltese Cross. In the center there is a circle that surrounds a swastika. On the back of the medal is "1939". A fixed ring at the top of the medal has a larger brass colored ring through it to which is attached a black, white and red ribbon. Nazi military item removed from the German chancellery at the time that the advance wave of U. S. forces entered Berlin; brought home by Raymond Godschalx.
