Service Coat: olive drab wool; four gilt brass eagle buttons on front; four patch pockets on the front with flaps and gilt brass eagle buttons; left shoulder has Army Air Force patch of blue disk with white star with red circular center, and two gold wings; sergeant's chevrons on both sleeves; five gold overseas bars (two and a half years) on left cuff, and a reenlistment stripe below; right shoulder has Airborne Troop Carrier patch with blue background and white embroidered airplane, parachute, and a white star with red disk below, with "AIRBORNE/TROOP CARRIER" in yellow letters above; left lapel has "US" collar disk and Army Air Force winged prop on the other; three campaign ribbons on left breast and silver Machinist qualification badge with propeller design and "AP MACHINIST" in raised lettering.
