Record 585/959 Catalog Record World War II Exhibit Page Home Search Image 1 of 6 Description  Model 1943 Field Jacket: 18 ounce olive drab wool serge material; concealed buttons; inside breast pockets; two outside patch pockets with flaps; fold down collar with lapels that are convertable and could be turned up tight around the neck; shoulder loops; sleeves have adjustableright tabs; waistband extension tab; right shoulder has 94th Infantry Division patch; corporal's chevrons on both sleeves; left shoulder has 5th Army patch; left sleeve has four gold bars indicating two years overseas and two enlistment stripes; left breast has Combat Infantry Badge; Campaign ribbons for: Purple Heart, Good Conduct, American Theater, European-African-Middle East Theater, Army Occupation Medal, WWII Victory Medal; Qualification Badge for Sharpshooter 1st class with carbine. Brass collar disks on both lapels, "US" on top and lower lapels have disks with crossed cannons (artillery). This model jacket was adopted in the fall of 1943 and called "Jacket, Field, Lined" or "ETO Jacket." It was popularly known as the "Ike Jacket." Possibly used by the donor, Robert A. Molash.
