Description Navy Officer's Dress Uniform: service coat: black wool; double breasted with six gilt brass eagle and anchor buttons; two front pockets; rank insignia on sleeve of three gold bands (Lieutenant Commander); campaign ribbons on left breast: Europe, Asiatic/Pacific, American Campaign. Pants: black wool; two front pockets and watch pocket on right; waistband with belt loops; back pockets.

Nile W. Roeder was born in Oshkosh, WI on November 11, 1917. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and served on a destroyer doing convoy and antisubmarine duty. He rose to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He married Lois R. Mathwig on October 5, 1946. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and worked at the Continental Clothing Company for 43 years. He died in Oshkosh, WI in June 1979.
