Elbert 226 Bowen St. 1943 Aug. 28 I WAS WITH PVT HOWARD WICKERT WHEN HE PASSED AWAY ALSO TWICE ON THE EVENING BEFORE HE WAS NEVER CONSCIOUS AFTER THE ACCIDENT ON ALL MY VISITS I PRAYED FOR HOWARD. I AM SENDING YOU THIS INFORMATION BECAUSE I PROMISED MRS WICKERT TO DO SO FRATERANLLY= WILLIAM A WENGER LUTHERAN CHAPLAIN OF MITCHELL FIELD.
