Farrell Bernard Finan was born November 5, 1923 in Oshkosh, WI, the son of Chester T. and Elsie Finan. He graduated from Oshkosh High School in January 1942 and went to work for Kimberly Clark Company in Niagara Falls, NY. He enlisted in the US Navy on November 23, 1942 and received his basic training at Farragut, Idaho and aviation maintenance school in Norman, OK. He graduated as a Naval gunner from Purcell, OK and was at the naval air base in Vero Beach, FL when he was killed in a plane crash on October 23, 1943.
