Notes Bust view of 2nd Lieutenant Frank Reimers, Jr.. He is wearing the officer's Service Uniform with "US" and crossed infantry rifles on his collar and lapels and lieutenant's bars on his shoulder loops. He also wears an Officer's Service hat with insignia.
2nd Lieutenant Frank Reimers, Jr. was born in Oshkosh, WI on January 6, 1922, the son of Fredrick C. and Ethel Reimers. He graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1939. He attended Oshkosh Teachers College for two years and one year at the University of Minnesota. He entered the service in 1942. He went through officer's training and was eventually assigned to an artillery battery. He was killed in action on February 19, 1944 while fighting in Italy.
