Frank A. Bartow was born January 13, 1924 in Fond du Lac, WI, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale O. Bartow. The family moved to Oshkosh, WI and Frank graduated from Oshkosh High School. He entered the Marine Corps on December 11, 1942. He participated in several actions in the Pacific Theater and was reported killed in action in August 1944. The Battle of Guam was fought by the Marines from July 21 to August 10, 1944 by the 3rd Marine Division. Frank was probably a member of this division and was killed at Guam.
