Bust view of Marvin N. Reinhardt. He is wearing an officer's service uniform with Army Air Force lapel insignia and shoulder patch. He also wears lieutenant's bars on his collar and pilot's qualification wings above his left breast pocket. His service hat has the stiffener removed for a "50 Mission Crusher Cap". Hand tinted. Marvin N. Reinhardt was born January 14, 1923, the son of Frank C. and Meta T. Reinhardt. He graduated from Oshkosh High School in January 1941. He married Geraldine Luce on January 14, 1944 and the couple had a son Dennis. He entered the service in 1943 and trained as a pilot on B-29 "Super Fortress" bombers. While flying missions from Saipan to Japan, he was reported as missing in action July 19, 1945 on his fourth mission. He was declared killed in action in January 1946. |
