Notes Image taken in front of the Elks Club on Jefferson. The band members are wearing uniforms and holding their instruments, one holds an American flag. Several club members are standing behind. The Elks Club band escorted every group of drafted men from the Winnebago County Courthouse, east on Merritt Avenue, and to the Chicago & Nortwestern passenger depot on Broad Street, during World War I. The members of the band are identified in a publication. The flag bearer is J. Masterson and drum major John H. Laabs is to the right.
