Admin/Biog History Jessica Ann Davis was born in Omro, Wis. in 1890. According to her death certificate she moved to Rockford, Ill. in 1912. She attended nursing school at the Rockford Hospital Training School and graduated on June 11, 1918. On July 1, 1918 joined the Army Nurse Corp. She was stationed at the Base Hospital at Camp Grant, in Rockford, IL, and went overseas in october 1918 and served at Camp Hospital No. 52 in Le Mans, France. She received her discharge on June 20, 1919. She worked as a nurse in Rockford, Ill until her retirement in 1959. She married a man by the name of Stigman who preceded her in death. She died June 14, 1964.

Abstract Note from Sergeant William C. Bennett to Jessica Ann Davis.

"This pin (safety first) was carried by Sgt. William C. Bennett, Co. C, 1st US Engineers, from the Swiss border to the North Sea. It has been stained by waters of the Somme, Aisne Marne, Muese, Mosselle [rivers] and it kept him safely. Presented to Miss Jessica Davis, Dec. 9th, 1918. May it keep her safely through all the struggles of life."
