Model 1914 Army Nurses Corps Collar Insignia: pair of darkened bronze caduceus; gilt letters on top "ANC" for Army Nurses Corps; and pin backs for attachment to collar of uniform coat.
Jessica Ann Davis was born in Omro, Wis. in 1890. According to her death certificate she moved to Rockford, Ill. in 1912. She attended nursing school at the Rockford Hospital Training School and graduated on June 11, 1918. On July 1, 1918 joined the Army Nurse Corps. She was stationed at the Base Hospital at Camp Grant, in Rockford, IL, and served at Camp Hospital No. 52 in Le Mans, France. She received her discharge on June 20, 1919. She worked as a nurse in Rockford, Ill until her retirement in 1959. She married a man by the name of Stigman who preceded her in death. She died June 14, 1964. |
