Panoramic long rolled portrait of nurses in the Army Nurse Corps and two US Army Medical Corps personel standing on bleachers at Camp Grant in Rockford, IL. The nurses are all wearing white uniforms and caps, and some wear dark blue capes. Jessica Ann Davis was born in Omro, Wis. in 1890. According to her death certificate she moved to Rockford, Ill. in 1912. She attended nursing school at the Rockford Hospital Training School and graduated on June 11, 1918. On July 1, 1918 joined the Army Nurse Corp. She was stationed at the Base Hospital at Camp Grant, in Rockford, IL, and served at Camp Hospital No. 52 in Le Mans, France. She received her discharge on June 20, 1919. She worked as a nurse in Rockford, Ill until her retirement in 1959. She married a man by the name of Stigman who preceded her in death. She died June 14, 1964. |
