Description Model 1917 Officer's Overseas Cap: olive drab wool with turned up flaps on each side; red artillery officer's cording on edges; sweatband with three black and silver oval stickers on the inside with "E", "W", and "Z".

Edward William Ziebell was a clerk at Diamond Match Company in Oshkosh in 1916. In World War I he became a 2nd Lieutenant in the 320th Field Artillery Regiment, 82nd "All American" Division.
