Notes Photograph of a pen & ink sketch by 1st Sergeant Charles Gaisser, Company F, 26th Infantry (US Regulars), 1st Infantry Division. The image shows an American eagle surrounded by flags of allied nations and a roster of soldiers who attended the Army (Officer's) Candidat'e Schools. The roster does not include John Matschi's name, although he did attend. Gaisser attended Army Officers Candidate School with John T. Matschi from December 1, 1917 until March 9, 1918. He apparently graduated from the course, while John did not.
