Notes Studio portrait of 1st Sergeant Charles Gaisser, Company F, 26th Infantry (US Regulars), 1st Infantry Division. The image shows him standing wearing Model 1917 Uniform, non-regulation hunting boots, and holding a campaign hat and gloves. He wears 1st Sergeant's chevrons on both sleeves and a "Sharpshooter" Qualification Bdge above his left pocket. He attended Army Officers Candidate School with John T. Matschi from December 1, 1917 until March 9, 1918. He apparently graduated from the course, while John did not.
