Notes Candid outdoor image by Sergeant John Matschi. The image shows a French Soldier's Grave in a cemetery. A name plaque is nailed to a cross with the soldier's name (Joseph [illegible]), class (1909), serial number, unit (an artillery battery), and date of death (5 December 1916) and that he "Died for France".
