Candid outdoor image by Sergeant John Matschi. The image shows Albert Salzieder, Company C, 150th Machine Gun Battalion, 42nd Division, at Camp Mills, New York. He is wearing a Model 1912 Uniform and campaign hat. Taken prior to their departure for France. Albert Salzieder was born January 7, 1896. He enlisted in Company F, 2nd Wisconsin National Guard on July 3, 1917. Company F became Company C, 150th Machine Gun Battalion, 42nd "Rainbow" Division in July 1917. He was appointed Private 1st Class on November 24, 1918. He was present with the company when they left France in April 1919. |
