Notes Candid outdoor image by Sergeant John Matschi. The image shows Harvey Christensen, Company C, 150th Machine Gun Battalion, 42nd Division, at Camp Mills, New York. Taken prior to their departure for France.
Harvey Christensen was born February 8, 1896. He enlisted in Company F, 2nd Wisconsin National Guard on June 2, 1917. He reported for active duty on July 15, 1917 when Company F became Company C, 150th Machine Gun Battalion, 42nd "Rainbow Division". He was hospitalized with Shell Shock on July 30, 1918 near Chateau Thierry, France. He was promoted to corporal on November 24, 1918. He returned from France with the company in April 1919.
