Candid outdoor image of William Pechmann. He wears the Model 1917 Uniform, Campaign Hat, leggings, and a pistol belt with pistol. His cartridge puch is stamped "M.G." Conical tents are in the background. Probably taken at Camp Mills, NJ. William Pechmann was born June 20, 1894, the son of Jordan Pechmann. He enlisted in Company F, 2nd Wisconsin National Guard on March 1, 1914. He was assigned to Company C, 150th Machinegun Battalion on Augst 9, 1917. He was promoted to corporal on August 15, 1917. He was appointed Sergeant on September 26, 1918. He was killed in action on October 22, 1918 from severe shrapnel wounds during the Meuse-Argonne Campaign. |
