Description 
Model 1907 German Canteen and Cover: oval spheroid tin plated steel body with screw top; cork stopper in mouth; leather strap with steel snap hook for attachment to equipment belt; tan corduroy cover with steel closure snaps. (Cup is not present). Brought home by Otto Suess as a souvenir. Otto Suess was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin October 10, 1890. He worked as a shipping clerk prior to enlisting in Company F, 2nd Wisconsin National Guard. He transferred with the rest of the company to the US Army and was assigned to Company C, 150th Machine Gun Battalion. He was later assigned to the Headquarters Detachment. He was promoted to Private First Class and Corporal. He survived the war and returned April 28, 1919.
