Notes	Grave of Nicholas Mand, Company C, 150th Machine Gun Battalion in a cemetery in France. He was burried in Grave #141, Section A, Plot 3, American Cemetery #608, Seringes-at-Nesles, Aisne, France. Nicholas J. Mand was born February 13, 1890 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. The family moved to Oshkosh in 1893. He worked as a sign painter until May 5, 1916 when he joined Company F, 2nd Wisconsin National Guard for service on the Mexican Border. He was discharged for fallen arches on July 8, 1916. At the time of his enlistment he was 26 years old, one gray eye (left) and one brown eye (right), dark hair, dark complexion, and 5' 11" tall. He enlisted again May 30, 1917 and was accepted. Company F, became Company C, 150th Machine Gun battalion and was assigned to the 42nd Division. He saw action in several battles before being mortally wounded on August 2, 1918 at Chatteau Thierry by schrapnel to the left leg and stomach. He died the following day. He was reinterred at Riverside Cemetery Lot 10, Block 7.
