Letter from Harvey Albert Stich, Company C, 150th Machinegun Battalion, 42nd Division, to his parents in Oshkosh. Niederadnau, Germany Dec. 12, 1918 Dear Father & Mother Must take the pleasure and write today and let you know that I am well and happy and hope that you are the same or better. So that we got the Germans and we are so far in the German land. We have been on long hike, but we soon got there to the place where we can stay for a while. And I hope they will send us home very soon. Well I may be in the town where father was born. But I guess it's a long way from the town we are in. But I guess we won't get in that town at all. So the weather is getting colder and winter is here now. And the snow will fall soon. Well I suppose it must be pretty cold there by this time too already. Well this [is] all the [news] I know today and close for this time with love and good luck to you all. As always your Soldier boy Harvey Answer soon
