Outdoor image showing a wooden cross marking the grave of Private Otto Spaedtke (KIA). Otto Spaedtke was born in Oshkosh, WI on April 26, 1900, the son of Robert and Augusta Fremming Spaedtke. He became a member of Company C, 150th Machine Gun Battalion, 42nd "Rainbow" Division in 1917. Killed in action at Chateau-Thierry, July 30, 1918, by a machine gun bullet to the head. His body was returned to Oshkosh and interred at Riverside Cemetery, Lot 4, Block 159. |
