Description Grenade, Offensive 1915: French made offensive action type grenade; composition ovoid shaped metal container with seam around middle (which would contain 127 grains of cheddite); fuse inserted in top with lead locking lug, releasing lever, and safety ring and pin. French made grenades were issued to the American Expeditionary Forces because American grenades were not available.
