Bust view image cut down into a circle of Frank Fabrycki. He is wearing a wool pull-over shirt and black tie. Clouds from the same painted back-drop as seen in P1935.17.2 are visible. The image was taken at the same location and probably at the same time. Frank Fabrycki was a member of the 2nd Wisconsin Regiment, national Guard during the Mexican Border War 1916. In 1917 he was assigned to Company F, 128th Infantry, 32nd Division. On August 4, 1918 he was reported as missing in action, but was severely wounded by poison gas and hospitalized for several months. He lived through the war and while riding on a train, fell and struck his head. He was rushed to a hospital, but died at 7:00 PM on February 5, 1919. He was buried in American Cemetery #6 at Bazvilles sur Meuse, grave # 914. His body was returned and reburied at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lot 18. |
