Bust view image of Frank Fabrycki. He wears a Model 1912 Tunic; collar disk with "WIS"; a Mexican Border Service Medal; pince nez glasses; and campaign hat with cord. Taken after returning from the Mexican Border.
Frank Fabrycki was a member of the 2nd Wisconsin Regiment, national Guard during the Mexican Border War 1916. In 1917 he was assigned to Company F, 128th Infantry, 32nd Division. On August 4, 1918 he was reported as missing in action, but was severely wounded by poison gas and hospitalized for several months. He lived through the war and while riding on a train, fell and struck his head. He was rushed to a hospital, but died at 7:00 PM on February 5, 1919. He was buried in American Cemetery #6 at Bazvilles sur Meuse, grave # 914. His body was returned and reburied at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lot 18. |
