Description Match Case: rectangular shaped box; opening on one end for match box; open on side to expose striker on box; stamped design on top with Maltese cross surrounded by "KRAFT UND WEMR FUR RECHT UND EHR" and oak leaves surrounding cross and motto.

Brought home as a souvenir by John M. Scantleton. John M. Scantleton served as a surgeon in the Medical Corps of the 128th Infantry, 32nd Division, during World War I. He was awarded the Croix de Guerre Medal by the French Government.
