Description Fork: stamped steel fork with tin coating; marked on handle "W.B." and "U.S." in raised letters. Part of soldier's mess utensils.

John M. Scantleton served as a surgeon in the Medical Corps of the 128th Infantry, 32nd Division, during World War I. He was awarded the Croix de Guerre Medal by the French Government.
