Telegram received by Major Watler A. Marden, 3rd Battalion, 2nd Infantry, Wisconsin National Guard. The message orders is from the Adjutant Generals Office in Madison, WI and orders him to active military duty. Madison Wis 9:35 PM July 12 1917 Major W A Marden Oshkosh Wis By direction of the Governor, you are informed that the proclamation of the President of the United States, dated July 3 and made effective by official War Department telegram, calls you into Federal service on July 15. On that date you will report for duty to your immediate commanding officer by wire and remain at your present station until further orders. Holloway Adjutant General 10:25 PM
