Outdoor view of the Marne River near Chateau Thierry. The villiage is at right and shows signs of severe damage from artillery shells. The village was the scene of heavy fighting during World War I. The 32nd Division passed through on July 27, 1918. The 42nd Division was severly engaged near here on July 28-30, 1918 and lost many casualties. |
