Description Officer's Overseas Cap: olive drab gabardine wool; folding flaps on each side with sky-blue cording (infantry); silk lining; metal snap on top; gilded brass oak leaf (major); leather sweatband inside base of crown.

Probably used by either Major Ulysses Grant Carl or Major Walter A. Marden, both of whom served in the Spanish-American War and World War I in the 32nd Division.
