Outdoor view of Major General William G. Haan and his Personal Staff. Taken on the front porch of the surgeon's office at Camp MacArthur near Waco, Texas. The officers are seated on a bench with two standing in rear. They left to right front: Colonel george M. Russell, Division Inspector; Major General William G. Haan, commanding 32nd Division; Lieutenant Colonel John H. Howard, Division Adjutant. Left to right second row: Lieutenant Colonel Alan L. Briggs, Assistant Chief of Staff; and Colonel Hjalmer Erickson, Division Quatermaster. General Haan assumed command of the 32nd Division on August 26, 1917 and commanded it through all its campaigns and the occupation of Germany. |
