Outdoor view of Company K, 2nd Wisconsin National Guard. The men are posed kneeling and standing in a semi-cicle, most are holding pieces of hard tack crackers. One soldier holds a sign reading "Sow Belly/Hard Tack". The tents of their company street are in the background. Taken at Camp Thomas, Chicamauga Park, Georgia prior to July 1898. Marshal H. Downs was a member of Company K, 2nd Wisconsin National Guard during the Spanish American War. Company K was from Beaver Dam, WI. |
