Book containing the report of General George B. McClellan on his observations in Europe of the Crimean War in his official capacity as Military Commisioner from the United States Government from 1855 through 1856. The book examines troop organizations, equipment used by the different armies, and tactics used. The book contains many illustrations of these subjects. Inscribed in front, "J. Hancock/Major/14 Wis Regt Inf/January 20th 1862/Camp near Fond du Lac Wis".
