Description Presentaion Grade Model 1840 Staff and Field Officers Sword: steel sword blade with "US" engraved on one side; eagle over "E PLURIBUS UNUM" on other side; gilt brass knuckle bow; gilt brass branch with design of floral pattern and "US"; quillon with eagle head. Scabbard: gilt plated steel with gilt bands with floral motif and oval panels for inscription, which are blank.
