Three-quarter seated view of Benjamin F. Perry, Company D, 41st Wisconsin Infantry wearing an enlistedman's frock coat, trousers, civilian boots, and a long full beard. Perry enlisted in Menasha on May 2, 1864 to serve for 100 days. The regiment was sent down the Mississippi River to Memphis in June and returned to be mustered out on September 23. He probably had this image taken when the boat stopped in Davenport, Iowa either on the way to or from Memphis. |
