The Soldier's Hymn-Book was carried by James F. Sawyer while he served in Company K, 21st Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry March 1864 - July 1865. It contains the lyrics to many popular hymns of the day and was published by the Young Men's Christian Association of Boston for distribution to Union soldiers. He was wounded in the neck at Savanah, GA.
