Garrity, Company I, 5th Wisconsin Infantry, wearing frock coat, white shirt, military vest, and dark trousers, he enlisted from Fond du Lac on May 10, 1861, promoted to Corporal, wounded at Spottsylvania, reenlisted and transferred to Company B, Independant Battalion on July 12, 1864 and to the 5th Wisconsin Infantry (Reorganized) in September 1864, promoted to sergeant, mustered out on July 11, 1865. |
