PIONEERS AND IMMIGRANTS
Immigration forms a cornerstone of the American character. The Lake Winnebago Region has a rich history of both pioneers and immigrants. This history spans from the first French habitants in the 17th century to the arrival of Hmong refugees today.
The aspects of immigration and pioneer life are well represented in the collection of the Oshkosh Public Museum. Examine firsthand original images and primary documents relating to their experiences, and read transcripts of oral history interviews conducted by the Oshkosh Public Museum.
